Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies its response. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may automatically receive these technical details:
- Page-view dates and times
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring site, when available
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data, such as which pages draw visits and where sessions end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Directing a search query to the selected partner
- Finding and repairing technical problems
- Measuring which pages are useful
- Keeping pages available and responsive
- Displaying advertising that may reflect interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Gooding County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It identifies request routes for the Gooding County Sheriff, county courts, Idaho State Police Bureau of Criminal Identification, and Idaho Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal-record profiles, and this resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and disclosure practices govern data entered there. Review the selected provider's policy before sending a query because we do not control its handling of information.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to a sheriff, court portal, Idaho agency, legal aid organization, or outside search service. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Advertising networks that place ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies responding to a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures protect collected data, but no internet system can guarantee absolute safety. A breach or unauthorized access therefore cannot be ruled out.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Data known to have come from a minor will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Idaho privacy and consumer-protection law may provide rights in addition to those listed here. Idaho's public-record access rules appear in the Idaho Public Records Act, while criminal-history dissemination is governed by Idaho Code 67-3008. Those government-record laws do not turn this private resource into a public agency. You may:
- Request deletion of applicable data
- Ask for a copy of applicable information held about you
- Opt out of eligible processing
- Request correction of inaccurate information
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised. A new version becomes available on this page with its updated effective date.
